After a few trial runs, it was decided to base the theme on the bride's favourite flowers, Freesias.
The final design comprises three layers. On the first is a translucent paper which allows the layer beneath to show through. This second layer is a textured white card that shows two images of a Freesia, taken from an original watercolour and an illustration of the church where the couple were married. The third layer is a lilac insert, which contains all the necessary wording. Everything is tied together with silver thread at the side.
The theme of Freesias and the colour lilac was carried through into the order of service, place cards, seating plan, thank-you cards and the flower arrangements.
